Mr. A.M. Buhari, a former Sherif of Madras, moved to Colombo, Sri Lanka at an early age for his education. It wasn't long after completing his schooling that he discovered his calling, and through his passion for creating food, he carved out a worthy legacy in the culinary industry. He was the first person in the city of Madras to combine the fine dining that the British had perfected, with Indian food to shape a whole new dining experience.

The Juke Box

Mr. A. M. Buhari not only focused on creating culinary marvels, but also giving patrons a dining experience that kept them coming back for more.

Among other things, Buhari was the first hotel to have a Juke Box to turn the atmosphere inside to a lively, boisterous one. Hits from the era were played and replayed and the memories remain standstill today. One of the more popular numbers played on the Juke Box was "Dum Maro Dum" in 1960.

With the valuable history, there is a traditional quality and taste in the Biryani. The family has taken a decision to never go for the Franchise model of Business, because we cannot compromise on the brand image created by the (Founder) Late Mr.A.M.Buhari who worked so hard to build, applauds Nawaz Buhari.
